The human resource management system (HRMS), which has been in the implementation phase since March 2005, received a major shot in the arm on Thursday. The centre for e-governance organized a one-day workshop to educate officials from various departments on how to use the system.
It is being introduced throughout the state starting this week. HRMS will maintain the service records of government employees and also generate their payrolls. If the system is effectively utilized, government employees will get their retirement benefits and have all records on the very date of retirement.
The project was set rolling by Chief secretary Sudhakar Rao during its official launch.
