Replied to "Fake Salary & Experience?" in Verification!!

Dear Diana,

If you don't have third party verification there are different levels of identifying whether the candidate is showing genuine figures or not:

Identifying a genuine guy will be done by 1 or 2 methods. It was a combination different methodologies we use and go step by step and try to decrease the count of fake guys.

1. As a recruiter, we should ask the candidate to walk you through his payslip, salary components, deductions. Now a days, any candidate who is really working will have a good hang on the income he is getting. May be you can face some smart guys who have done enough home work to give us the nice explaination about the salary structure. Guys who are not able to understand the normal terminology like gross, CTC, deductions is a fake guy. You need to check the confidence levels of the candidate on the phone.

2. As our friend said, ask for Form 16 from his previous employer. If any candidate is falling under tax bracket irrespective of the level of the company he has to submit Form 16. If the candidate is not falling under tax bracket ask for the bank statement.

3. Now a days every company has to open the back account. So you can ask for the bank statement and check for the line item "SALARY" in the statement

If any more strikes to me i will keep you posted.

Dear Unnikrishanan,

You can try by contacting the resigned employees from the organization. They will definitely refer you some candidates.

Dear Sudhakar,

I agree with your point. Even I have many instances where some of my external client's play with us for 1-2 months and after that just say we have put the position on hold.

So as a solution we came up with initial fee of about 10-20K from the client before starting the recruitment activity. Once if any candidate get's selected we will get it adjusted in the finder's fee. If the recruitment couldn't happen we need to repay the amount to the client.

The client who is so serious about the position will not hestitate to pay the initial amount.

Hope all the recruitment companies can follow this.

Regards,
PVR Suresh
