We are currently looking for the right individual to lead a team of Software Development Engineers for this project. Responsibilities include leadership of the day to day development activities as well as the definition of the overall system architecture.



Overall Responsibility:



• Lead 4 to 10 software developers working on the next generation Network Management System (NMS)

• Technical Lead for the system / software architecture and for all development decisions

• Work directly with the Product Line Management to define new features



Key Areas of Responsibility:



• Create the Engineering Design Plan based on Marketing Requirements Definition

• Define the software implementation plan to ensure that the product functionality meets the Marketing requirements

• Drive the development schedule based on feature requirements and available resources

• Lead day to day development activities

• Work directly with engineering staff to resolve technical challenges that arise during the development

• Ensure that features are being implemented in a manner consistent with the Engineering Design Plan

• Give constant feedback to Product Line Management on development status and scheduling changes

• Plan the Product Validation testing to ensure that new feature meet Marketing Requirements

• Define the development environment and execute software life-cycle maintenance

• Control the software testing and documentation

Skills

Qualifications:

• BSEE/CS with 5+ years of software development experience

• MSEE/CS is a plus

• 2+ years Project Lead experience desired

• Software Application Development for Windows and Linux

• Java development and OOP practices

• Understanding of Networking protocols:

• TCP/IP, SNMP, Ethernet, PPP

• ARP, DNS, Routing

• Experience using or developing Network Management Systems is a plus

• Background in Adventnet NMS software is a plus
