Hi Diana,

In such situations, if the candidate falls under the taxable income slab, we ask them for their PAN numbers & also can check their previous Form 16 (annual tax returns), to know their actual earnings for the specific period.

Also can do the usual background check with their earlier employers & colleagues, which often when done properly will yield good results.
