J&K plans to create 2,000 jobs in health sector

The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to create 2,000 posts of medical and para-medical staff to ensure their required strength in hospitals Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said the move was part of government`s resolve to provide better medical facilities to patients, particularly for those in remote and far-flung areas of the state.

Priority is given to provide modern diagnostic equipment in hospitals and constructing spacious hospitals with focus on remote areas, he said.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting, which was also attended by Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma.

The health minister said a series of measures have been initiated to bring reforms in health sector. Foolproof system has been adopted in hospitals to check pilferage of revenue on account of admit cards and for conducting various diagnostic tests.
